Dunno if such cynicism is in order. There are a few newspapers and magazines tht are probably worth your attention. The Hindu for one (no prizes for tht). Try reading tehelka if you can. Yes they are guilty of sensationalism. Yes they are also equally guilty of being rather sententious (even pretentious). But they do a good job.
